Paolo Beria. Milano (Italy), 1978. Holds an MSc. in Civil Engineering (Politecnico di Milano, 2003) and a Ph.D. in Urban projects and policies (Politecnico di Milano, 2008). He is Associate Professor of Transport Economics and director of the TRASPOL research center on transport policies at Politecnico di Milano and an expert member of the “Struttura Tecnica di Missione” of the Italian Ministry of Transport (strategic board). He is a member of the management board of the Special Interest Group in Transport Economic Regulation (SIG-E3) of the World Conference on Transport Research. His fields of research are transport planning and geography, assessment of transport projects and policies, and regulation. He is the author of more than 100 papers, of which 29 on peer-reviewed journals.
